The Orchestrator

The book is in four parts. Part I, The Role, names the work and gives it a vocabulary. Part II, The Work, stays with the system: tools, instructions, architecture, nondeterminism, and failure. Part III, The Institution, moves into meetings, organizations, education, and how to begin. Part IV, The Constraints, is security, cost, the infrastructure underneath all of it, what comes next, and the close. Each part opens with a short map of the chapters inside it.

Throughout, the book treats orchestrator as a proposed name for a pattern already visible in the world rather than a settled corporate category, which means you should test the term against your own team. If it clarifies who owns delegation, evidence, authority, and handoff, keep it. If it becomes one more way to avoid naming who is responsible, throw it out.

That is the standard this book applies to itself.
