Why the book became three volumes
The complete edition above was finished right before the book was split into a three-volume series — Your Next Job Title (the career book), The Delegation Contract (the systems book), and The Orchestrated Organization (the organization book). One book, three different jobs; most readers need one of them more than the others, and not the same one.
The split is really about pace. These three subjects don't move at the same speed, and this field refuses to sit still. The career chapters are already stable. The systems chapters track a technology that changes every few months. The organization chapters look at an experiment that is still running. As separate volumes, each one can be revised, expanded, and re-released on its own schedule: Book 1 can hold still while Book 2 keeps up with the technology and Book 3 keeps up with the organizations actually doing this. The complete edition is a snapshot of one moment; the volumes are built to be kept current.
Their release schedule hasn't been set yet. Until they ship, the complete edition is the whole book in print — and the volumes' material is here on the site, free, organized as Book 1, Book 2, and Book 3.
